Why we built this

Picking a TV service in 2026 is harder than it should be. Cable companies want you on cable. Streaming services want you on streaming. Nobody just lays it out flat. So we did.

What we do

Untangled Streaming is a free, independent comparison tool for US TV + internet options. You answer three questions — your ZIP, your current bill, what you can't live without — and we tell you the best fit and how much you'd save. No signup, no email required.

What we don't do

We don't sell TV service. We don't take ads from the providers we compare. We don't push one type of service over another. We're not "team cable" or "team streaming" — we're team "the best fit for your household."

How we make money

When you click "Get this deal" and sign up with a provider, we earn a small commission from that provider's affiliate program. Your price is exactly the same whether you use our link or go to the provider directly. We disclose every affiliate link with a "Get this deal" label. Non-affiliate providers (most cable companies) get a "Visit site" label instead. Full affiliate disclosure here.

How the data is sourced

Pricing comes directly from each provider's public website. We refresh prices weekly. Channel lineups come from each provider's published lineup pages. ZIP-to-DMA mapping uses USPS data and Nielsen DMA boundaries. Where data is uncertain, we say so.

Why independent matters

Most "comparison" sites you'll find are owned by one of the providers they compare. They tilt rankings toward their parent. We're not — we're independently owned and operate as a public-service tool.

Who runs this

One person, with help from family. Started in 2025 because we kept getting asked by friends and family "should I cancel cable?" — and the answer is more nuanced than the internet makes it out to be.
