Entertainment channels are where cord-cutting hurts the most. Here's why.
USA, TNT, FX, AMC, Bravo, Discovery — these channels run cable original shows you can't easily get anywhere else. Yellowstone, Below Deck, The Walking Dead, Mayor of Kingstown.
Most live TV streaming services include them. YouTube TV, Hulu Live, Fubo, DirecTV Stream — all have the major entertainment networks. Sling has fewer.
The catch — some networks now have their own streaming app with better catalogs. AMC+ has more Walking Dead content than the live AMC channel. FX content shows up on Hulu the next day. Discovery+ has more reality content than the live Discovery channel.
So you have a choice. Pay for live TV at 73 to 83 a month and watch as it airs. Or pay for individual streaming apps at 9 to 12 each and watch on demand. Math depends on how many cable shows you actually follow live.
Most people are better off with a live TV service than stacking five streaming apps.
